Welcome to Tots Love Country | Early Learning Centre

We believe that a holistic, nurturing, whānau environment creates positive outcomes for tamariki.  Integral aspects of children’s learning here at Tots Love Country include whānau, community, caring for animals, and kaitiakitanga; being caretakers and guardians for Papatūānuku - our natural environment. Opportunities for tamariki to learn in our play-based environment are extensive, developing their potential to ask questions and explore te ao (the world around them) whilst developing resilience.

We are a mixed age centre and we encourage positive relationships by working together in unity as a whānau. Many tuākana/tēina relationships develop; where tamariki of different ages learn from and care for one another.  We practice ako by valuing and utilising the knowledge that both kaiako and tamariki bring with them.

At Tots Love Country, kaiako provide providing provocations to create and foster learning experiences that will encourage tamariki to develop to their full potential.  The use of natural, loose parts and sustainable resources and materials offer unlimited opportunities for ako.

We recognise each kaiako for their own individual attributes, which contribute to our unique environment. By developing close relationships with parents and whānau and strongly encouraging them to be actively involved in our centre life, we create a sense of whanaungatanga and belonging. These partnerships emphasise the value we place on whānau.

Our purpose is to provide the surrounding community with a caring education service that offers a unique environment and experience for tamariki to learn, grow, explore and to become confident and independent learners who love and embrace Papatūānuku.
